15 years ago I was overweight, unhealthy and miserable. Despite growing up being fit and lean with an interest in athletics, I got distracted by everyday problems such bills, jobs and family and the weight began piling on.
Following a relationship breakup I spent weeks in bed and had no contact with the outside world. I accepted that I would never meet anyone again and would be doomed to a life of loneliness. On day 15 a voice in my head called me a lazy git and told me to sort my life out. In that moment, I went to the shops and bought healthy food to begin meal prepping and went to the gym. That’s where my fitness journey began.
I trained four times a week and followed a strict nutritional plan. Being a former national level sprinter, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I quit sugar, alcohol and calculated my exact macro requirements.
Losing 19 kg in 14 weeks, I know how life changing a body transformation can be. I lost all the weight through dedication, hard work and being organised. I trusted the process and kept going, achieving and resetting my goals along the way. I couldn’t have achieved all this without the encouragement of people around me.
